GOALS FOR SKILL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
Calm structured environment –
stimulates careful listening encouraging children to be aware and to
respond to sound
appropriately this is an addition
Rhythm – children
learn to maintain a steady beat, to anticipate a beat and to play simple
rhythms
Pitch – activities promote understanding of up and down,
class songs develop good pitch, CD helps intonation at home
Vocal – children with
parents/adults sing a wide repertoire of songs. Develops memory also.
Kinesthetic-
develops fine and gross motor skills through finger games, holding and
controlling mallets, moving to a beat, clapping, walking, dancing and
many other activities
Social
Skills and Concentration are fostered through co-operation, sharing ,
taking turns, accepting guidance, waiting and anticipation.
Parent/adult
involvement provides security for children allowing for greater
enjoyment and a more successful learning atmosphere.
